Italy - Florence

A few days in Florence

Visiting Florence in Italy has been a dream of my husband Jacobs for as long as I can remember, so it was about time that we did some traveling from his bucketlist as well huh?

We flew in to Bologna where we stayed for a couple of days, and then we took the train to Florence. Italy is really the country to visit if you like to travel by train, it was supereasy and quite affordable to travel with the highspeed trains. And you get to see the countryside, so that’s on the plusside too.

As I have said before, we visited Italy during late July 2022, so the weather was super hot. It was over 30 degrees every day, with as most no breeze at all. Look at the picture below… I am not tanned, I am sweaty! I was so happy that we rented a small airBnB with an aircon.

The architecture in Florence is just as stunning as you would imagine. It was kind of surreal looking at all the details on some of the buildings.

You all know that I am all about the pasta, the pizzas and the occasional Aperol Spritz, so how did I feel feel about the foodscene of Florence?
Well, she knocked it out of the park. Even though it was superhot during both days and nights, to the verge of not being able to eat meat at all just cuz your body could hardly handle it, the food as just amazing. I had some of the best pasta I have ever eaten in Florence, and that kind of says a lot, cuz I have eaten quite a lot of pasta!

So, first we visited Bologna, then we stayed in Florence for a few days and then we took a train to … to be continued, so stay tuned!
