Italy - Rome

Revisiting Rome – 9 years later

So our next stop on our summer in Italy was Rome, and yes we have already visited Rome once before. Nine years ago. NINE!

I have always wanted to see new places, but one thing that I do love about revisiting a city that you have already been to is that you don’t have to check off items from your bucketlist. We had already seen all of the places we wanted to in Rome, we visited Vatican city, been to St Peter’s dome, saw the iconic Fontana di Trevi, and saw Ill Vittorio during sunset. All we had to do this time in Rome, was enjoy the city.

One thing I will tell you though, what has changed with the city since the last time we visited… it’s gotten dirty. Not just a little but quite a lot. During the early mornings, the smaller streets and sidewalks were covered with garbage and its habitants. Yes, I mean rats.

But rats and garbage aside, Rome has always been one of my favorite cities in Europe, and after revisiting the city at about 40 degrees… it’s still a favorite!
Have you ever been to Rome?
