    How to survive the winterwonderland

It is beautiful right? Right, it’s beautiful in a picture or on a walk in woods, you enjoy the indoors more with a good book, a large blanket and some mulled wine. But is that really how you survive the season of winterwonderland? This is actally not the season I dislike most, that’s the grey in between seasons. You know, when falls turns grey and just awaits winter, or when winter fades out and everything turnes grey again in the pre-spring season. That’s what I dislike most, the grey-tween-season. Am I making up words again? Honestly, I do think the grey it’s what keeps me most busy making plans for…

    Restaurang Kroken

This time of the year in Sweden, all resturants serve some kind of smorgosboard with christmas foods, and most people asleast two different types of smorgosboards before christmas. And then there’s the actual christmas smorgosboard, on christmas eve. Lots and lots of food. So this time we visited Restaurang Kroken, whom is well known for their fishdished and collabs with the local brewery. So on the table of foods were about fourty (!) differend kind of picked herring, salmon in every kind you could wish for, smoked cod and my personal favorite – the Guinness chese. The food was simply amazing, to the extent that you will not be hungry…

    Heavy snowfall

The snow fell last night, and it’s heavy with the snow. Not chaos worth of snow, not nearly as much and even though we live in Sweden and it’s kind of known for it’s snow there’s always chaos when the first real snow hits. There’s truckers everywhere, trains canselled and schools are out. So what about flights? The flights are on time as usual, but the roads leading up to the airports are worse. It’s like you’re trying to get north of the wall, while passing throgh a heard of fugitive sheep. Not that I blame them. There’s snow. With all it’s glory. The snow is really beautiful, but I’m really…

    Spa treatments

We use to do this yearly spa thing at Nynäs Havsbad, where we all booked our different treatments, soaked in the hottubs outdoors, had a great dinner and enjoyed some bubbly. The herbal treatment is magic, by the way, the smell is absolutly divine. I usually skipped the massage though, my body really cant handle that, I’m sore for several day afterwards. It’s really not worth it for me, even though I enjoy it at the moment. There’s just something different about this Spa, maybe its the fact that it’s surrounded by the cliffs, the ocean and the sky. And no matter what season you go there, it’s always just…

    Nynäshamns ångbryggeri

This weekend we visited a local micro brewery for a beertasting and christmas food smorgasbord. Is that how you describe it? Does that even make sence? Hopefully it does. Anyways, we visited Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri, which is the microbrewery located closest to us. And I’m a bit ashamed to admit that this was my first time ever visiting the brewery. I dont know why really, I pass it a few times a month, but I guess it’s never been the right time. I do like beers, or rather stouts and porter, that’s more up my alley. And the microbrewery’s got some really good once when it comes to that, but to…

    Photowalk in the forrest

Yes, there’s an image of one of my cats pooping. As I was taking a photowalk in the forrest, some of my cats joined in as usual, but Mr Eddie took the Loot-at-me thing that cats do a bit further. Where he’s sitting, dumping, was were I was standing just seconds before while taking a picture of a beautiful tree. Maybe he was jelous. Anyways. There’s finally some snow. Not much, though, just a small preview of what’s to come Kind of like mother nature is giving us a headsup that it’s time to flee the country and head south towards the sun. Do you enjoy the winter and snow,…

My best tip for a great autumn – staycation

Yes, staycation is actually a thing. It’s a play on words, two words combined into one. The expression was founded back in the year 2008 in USA because of the economical crisis, that made the gasprices increase way above the normal so a lot of people couldnt afford to go on their regulare vacation. Nowadays the word is used casually, it doent mean you have to stay at home, but close to home.So my best tip for a great autumn, go on a staycation. – Pack a bag, and check in to one of your close by hotels for the weekend. There are lots and lots of great and not that…

    The first snow

The first snow fell today, well there was some during the weekend as well, but not like this. Today is the first day I wake up and there’s snow on the ground. So winter is not just coming, it’s here. I dont really mind the snow anymore, I use to but nowadays I kind of like it. If I could choose I would take away some of the cold, but since I cant I rather try to see the beauty of it. How about you, do you enjoy the winter? //Ann #travelblogger #traveling #nouwautumnchallenge
