Inside of St Giles Cathedral
Its beautiful right?
The cathedral is located on the Royal Mile, you simply cant miss it and you really shouldnt. If you visit Edinburgh in Scotland, just make sure that you see the cathedral, both inside and out, its really amazing. Maybe I shouldnt put that on you, I only entered the cathedral on my second second visit to Edinburgh…
If you want to phograph inside the cathedral, make sure that go get a photopermit. Just stop at the enrance and you will see the sign for the permits. As a photonerd, it was all worth it for me.
But what about you, would you pay a fee to be able to take pictures?

It is a beautiful cathedral! It is always nice to visit cathedrals. The stained glass, the intricate interiors and the peaceful feeling you get once you’re inside always make the experience memorable.

I love the cathedrals and architecture of Europe! This day in age, I appreciate that they limit photos by charging a fee. Those that really feel inclined will have no problem getting the permit.

I love visiting cathedrals whenever we visit a new place. Museums and cathedrals are always our first stops. The stained glass windows of the St. Giles Cathedral is so jaw dropping in its beauty.

Then I think you would love the national museum of scotland, they are conctantly changing their exhibitions. I had the pleasure of visiting when they had a Bonny Prince Charles exhibition, and I loved it!

I’d definately pay for a photo permit for a building like this, because I thinks it’s just a way for them to get extra money to put towards restoration costs. I think it’s a fab idea and more buildings should do it.

Oh, St. Giles was one of my favorite stops in Edinburgh! I especially loved the small Thistle Chapel where the queen meets with the Knights of the Order of the Thistle. The woodcarvings in there were stunning. Thanks for sharing these great photos.

Yes I would pay a fee to photograph this lovely cathedral! I have not run into that option. Often cathedrals just won’t allow photos (like Westminster Abbey). I wish for that option more places!

I would definitely pay the fee to take photos! I love visiting old cathedrals and churches when I travel, too. I can’t believe I haven’t been to St. Giles – it’s going on my list the next time I’m in Edinburgh 😃
